Little Dorothy Gale of Kansas dreams of what may lie over the rainbow. One day a tornado hit her home town and carries Dorothy, her house and her little dog Toto away to picturesque Munchkinland at the end of the rainbow. The house accidentally kills the Wicked Witch of the East and the Munchkins claim Dorothy as their hero. Only the Wizard of Oz can help Dorothy get home, so she sets off on the Yellow Brick Road to the Emerald City. On the way she persuades a Scarecrow with no brain, a Tin man with no heart and a cowardly Lion to accompany her. When they finally all meet the Wizard he will only help them if they kill the Wicked Witch of the West. A frightening and impossible task as she is protected by her Monkeys and Winkies. They do however succeed and they all get their wishes except Dorothy who always had the power to return home thanks to her Ruby Slippers.
